![]() So sit back, RELAX and enjoy the music of a city that's on the verge of spectacular decadence…the 80s welcomes you back. Without further ado let's take a look at the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories radio stations and take a look at the radio stations broadcasting over the Vice City airwaves. Without going into too much detail, Rockstar Leeds found a way to ensure that the radio stations are always available without pause, without sacrificing draw distance, pedestrians on the sidewalk, ambient audio and the dialog…all the while ensuring good battery life of the PSP. Rockstar Leeds simply did an incredible job in merging every component involved in the conception of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. Thanks to the talents of Rockstar's audio team lead by Craig Connor, the radio stations in Vice City Stories will feature continuous blocks of songs, listener call-ins, the trademarked insanity of the commercials, and rapier sharp wit of the always hilarious DJ chatter. Never to be overlooked, the always hilarious talk radio format will have a home on the Vice City airwaves with the call letters VCPR (Vice City Public Radio). The airwaves of 1984 Vice City will be infiltrated by 8 music stations with all new licensed tracks, covering the following music formats: Rock, Pop, Ballads, Hip Hop/Electro, Disco, Soul, New Wave, and Latin. The soundtrack will over deliver on what fans have come to expect from Rockstar Games. The epic scope of the selections rivals any other single game, TV, or film project for that matter. With over 100 tracks, this is the largest number of songs of any Grand Theft Auto soundtrack, console or handheld. ![]() Greatest Hits 2002Genre: Synth-popTrack: 01Written and composed by Rockstar Norths in-house musician of the time. A tasty guitar lick and bass progression anchor the beat, laying the foundation for the raw vocals. Produced by Stuart Gray, who has worked with Glen Power (The Script) and Hozier, ‘ Cry & Get A Little Drunk’ is unmistakably catchy. ![]() Influenced by the likes of New Radicals and INXS, the band has a distinctly Indie-rock feel with a dash of pop and mainstream sensibility. Indulging in Grand Theft Auto Vice City on the PS2 after school, they fell in love with the soundtrack and began playing music together in one of the members’ parents’ garage. This formed some of their biggest influences, in addition to 90’s and 00’s classics. ‘ Cry & Get A Little Drunk ’ has also already garnered early support from Notion, showing no signs of slowing down.Ĭomprised of Darragh Whyte (vocals, guitar), Keith Whyte (Drums), Cathal Sweeney (Guitar), and Tymek Kocurkiewicz (Bass), all of the band members displayed a passion for music at a young age, and were introduced to music from the 80’s via their parents. The soundtracks to Grand Theft Auto are a highlight, and Vice City is no exception with its satirical world-building Miami aesthetic. In addition to this, the boys have headlined Bloom Festival in Phoenix park and sold out shows at Whelans Upstairs in Dublin, as well as featuring in the RTE 2XM ‘Passport Approved Show’, which was broadcast to over 50 international stations. With publication support from the likes of Clash Magazine, Hot Press, RTE Entertainment, and Music Crowns, the Dublin rockers have also performed at Wild Roots Festival in Sligo, which featured acts such as Rudimental and Kaiser Chiefs. The single will come off of their upcoming EP Living In A Paranoid Trance. Originally from Galway, Dublin based Indie-rock band The Valmonts released their new single ‘ Cry & Get A Little Drunk ’ on the 15th of September via Watts Hill Records.
